3.3 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
4. PACKAGING
4.1 Packing, palletization, and marking. The water cans shall be packed, palletized, and marked in accordance with the domestic or overseas requirements of ASTM D 3951, as applicable (see 5.2).
5. NOTES
5.1 Intended use. The type I water can is intended for use in filling the radiator of military vehicles. The type II water can is intended for use in sprinkling water on small planted areas within military compounds.
5.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this document.
b. Type of can required (see 1.1).
c. Type of packing, palletization, and marking requirements required (see 4.1).
