The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this

Commercial Item Description

This commercial item description covers plastic wheeled trucks for laundry, refuse or bulk loads, excluding food items.

Salient characteristics:

(1) Capacity- size as specified, minimum of four casters, two rigid along the length of the base and two swivel along the width of the base, diamond placed. Sizes and dimensions listed below are minimums.

(2) Shape- rectangular.

(3) Material- Polyethylene (PE) or polyethylene copolymer

(3) Reinforcement

(a) Tubular steel reinforcement under top rolled rim for trucks from 10 to 20 bushels, inclusive.

(b) Exterior plywood identical in size and attached below the base of the truck.

Workmansship. Trucks shall be free from flash, blisters, cracks, chips, sharp fins, and edges, lumps, and embedded foreign material.

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawing, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.

Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.

Packaging, packing and marking. The packaging and packing shall be in accordance with normal commercial practice and shall assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
