COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

WASTE RECEPTACLE, SWING TOP, PLASTIC, INDOOR USE

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.

Salient characteristics:

(1) Color: as specified

(2) Capacity- size as specified

(a) Size I- 23 gallon.

(b) Size II- 19 gallon.

(3) Shape- square, round or rectangular

(4) Material- polyethylene, high impact polyethylene, ABS, polypropylene or combination thereof.

(5) Top- snap-on or hinged with one or two doors

(6) Base:

(a) Top rim rolled out and reinforced for rigidity.

(b) Molded in one piece and water tight.

Workmanship. Free from flash, blisters, cracks, chips, sharp fins, sharp edges, lumps and embedded foreign material, seams, cold marks or other defects. Interior and exterior surfaces smooth for easy cleaning and uniform in texture.

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawing, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.

Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.

Packaging, packing and marking. The package and packing shall be in accordance with normal commercial practice and shall assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
