COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
FUNNEL (METAL, FLEXIBLE SPOUT, GARAGE USE, WITH STRAINER)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in preference to Type V of Federal
Specification RR-F-800
Salient characteristics.
(1) Tapered funnel body.
(2) Flexible spout, zinc plated or galvanized, 0.750 inch minimum outside diameter, 13 inches minimum length with automatic transmission tip.
(3) Capacity- 1 quart (plus or minus 10 percent).
(4) Material- steel (minimum 0.015 inch thickness, uncoated) pre-galvanized sheet or hot-dip galvanized after fabrication.
(5) Top Edge- rolled.
(6) Strainer- removable:
(a) Easily removed and shall not loosen during use of the funnel.
(b) Properly fit to prevent particles larger that the mesh from passing through the funnel.
(c) Brass strainer cloth, 70-100 mesh per linear inch, evenly spaced.
(7) Finish- galvanized commercial practice, G90 minimum, hot-dipped or pre-galvanized sheets, with uncoated edges protected against corrosion.

Workmanship. Clean, rigid, and free from cracks, sharp edges, and rust. Finish shall be free from lumps, blisters, grit, uncoated areas, dross, flux, black or acid spots, and flaking. Welds, brazing, and soldering shall not have any missing, unfused, broken, burned through areas, and shall be free from splatter, flash, pits, flux, and scale. There shall be no defects that affect serviceability or appearance.
Regulatory requirements. In accordance with the section 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing suppliers’ employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
